John and Piper Carey are the husband-and-wife team behind Carey Development Group — a full-service real estate and development company rooted in a deep love of Cape Cod, its communities, and the stories its buildings tell. Married in September 2025, their partnership runs deeper than any blueprint — it’s a shared life built on the same values that guide their work: integrity, craftsmanship, and a genuine love of place.

For John and Piper, preservation isn’t a trend — it’s a conviction. They are actively reimagining some of Harwich’s most storied landmarks. The 1871 West Harwich Schoolhouse at Bell’s Neck Road has been transformed into ten housing units in a $3 million project. While Cape Cod and the Islands is where their heart is, CDG’s work extends to Boston and throughout New England.

John Carey

Originally from the North Shore of Boston in Hamilton, MA, John’s love of Cape Cod runs deeper than most — his grandfather planted roots in Harwichport over 70 years ago. After college, John decided to make the Cape home for good. As the driving force behind CDG, he specializes in custom home construction, historic restoration, and preservation.

John holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Northeastern University. He has built a reputation for combining quality craftsmanship with a genuine commitment to honoring the region’s character and heritage. When he steps away from the job site, you’ll find John out on the water or gathered around a table in the sand with family and friends.

Piper Connolly Carey

Originally from North Andover, MA, Piper spent countless summers falling in love with Cape Cod before making it her permanent home. As a broker with Sotheby’s International Realty – Cape Cod, she has visibility into some of the most premier properties on the market.

At CDG, Piper oversees client relations, design direction, and the finishing touches that transform a house into a home. She offers clients a seamless, full-service experience — from the first showing to the final walkthrough and beyond.
